Domestic Abuse Housing Advocate
Full time – 37 hours

1 year Fixed term contract
This role will cover Havant and East Hampshire.

The Role:
·To work within dispersed accommodation provided by East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) and Havant Borough Council (HBC) provide intensive support to the victim / survivor and their child(ren) living within the properties.

Duties and Responsibilities:
·To provide support to victims and survivors to maintain their current accommodation
·Provide safety planning for the family
·To provide 1:1 support for each member of the family and facilitate family work, through a family support plan, enabling the family to thrive as individuals and a unit.
·Support victims to understand their housing options and access or maintain suitable, safe accommodation.
You will have:
·Experience working with vulnerable groups
·Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework
·Have a good understanding of Housing and Homelessness legislation and it application within the domestic abuse field.
·Have strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations
·Have knowledge and experience of Adult and Child Safeguarding principles, the relevant legislative framework and local and national guidance, including recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns/making referrals to statutory bodies.
