About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with extensive experience of managing services within social care (including Learning Disabilities) to become the registered manager for the Shropshire region. Reporting to the Head of Support and Inclusion for England the successful candidate will have line management responsibility for the Community Support Managers in Shropshire and will be accountable for the ongoing management, development and improvement of services within the region to ensure high quality individualised support provision.
Key Responsibilities of the Regional Services Manager
·To provide leadership and direction to the regional management teams.
·To develop positive and proactive relationships with the local commissioners, other support providers, people supported by the service and their representatives.
·To work as part of the senior management team in developing and delivering the operational plans for the region in line with service’s aims and objectives.
·To support and manage change positively within the region to ensure ongoing development of the services the service provides.
·To promote inclusion by ensuring the people we support are actively involved in all aspects of their support including recruitment, induction and probation, policy reviews and quality monitoring systems.
·To adopt a holistic approach to supporting individuals, including effective partnership working with Local Authorities and Health commissioners, and the wider MDT, demonstrating a truly collaborative approach.
·To promote a positive Health and Safety culture ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of the individuals receiving our support and employees within the region, in accordance with policies.
·To ensure that all services delivered meet both contractual and regulatory obligations and requirements, working in partnership with the service’s Development and Compliance Department.
Who we’re looking for?
We’re looking for a qualified manager with substantial and proven experience of managing services within social care (including learning disabilities) and working positively within multi-disciplinary teams. You’ll have extensive knowledge and experience of working with people with varied support needs along with relevant legislative and regulatory standards.
You’ll have the ability to lead and manage geographically dispersed teams and motivate line managers, their teams and individuals to achieve the highest possible level of performance along with the ability to problem solve and develop innovative approaches to support delivery.
You’ll be self-motivated with an energetic approach, have excellent communication skills and the ability to problem solve under pressure along with the ability to demonstrate a sound value base, reflecting the ethos and culture of the organisation and lead by example, always promoting the highest standard of performance.
The ability to use a range of IT systems using Microsoft Office applications as well as bespoke externally developed systems to access, analyse and use information to improve compliance and to inform prioritising is also essential.
This post will be based in our regional office in Shrewsbury with the option of hybrid working. You will need to travel regularly across the business to meet the needs of the role, so it is essential that you hold a current UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle. Reliability and flexibility are also essential as it is not always a 9-5pm job!
The post holder will also be required to participate on the management On-call rota out of hours.
