Support Worker – Domestic Abuse

Domestic Abuse Navigator – Refuge – Portsmouth – £11.43 per hour
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm – Own transport required
White Knight Recruitment are working in partnership with an innovative and unique provider of all services to those affected by domestic abuse. 
Key responsibilities of this role:
·To deliver high quality, person-centred support to women and children fleeing to safe accommodation (Refuge) and continue this support for women who resettle in Portsmouth  
·To work collaboratively with individual women to identify both their own needs and those of their children/young people
·To identify, respond to, and manage risks and needs (both practical and emotional), through client led co-produced safety and support plans 
·To effectively manage voids, rent and service charge related responsibilities including, but not limited to; supporting with housing benefit applications, taking payments from clients, providing receipts, accurately recording charges and payments and progressing any issues to management
Experience required:
·Experience of providing support to vulnerable people under stress
·Experience of working with a diverse range of people, including those experiencing deprivation
·Demonstrable experience of supporting individuals within the context of a helping environment, both face to face and on the telephone
·Be compassionate and empathetic with your client’s situation
